Suits.jpg

The project Suits is an app for improving access to lawsuit claims that the user may be eligible for. I worked with a design team under the leadership of Nhi Pham to create functional prototypes of various user flows within the app.

Tools used: Adobe Illustrator, Figma

Team members: Nhi Pham (Design lead), Doreen Otaru

My role: Designer (designed and prototyped claim page (main landing page), profile page, claim cards)

Timeline: 1 semester (roughly 12 weeks)

Some background…

Suits is a local startup project by Shreyas Satewar I worked on through UT Convergent Forge for the Spring 2024 semester. Suits allows for users to view lawsuit settlements and get directed to where they can claim compensation.

How can I make an effective design system for use across an app?

Identifying the direction of the redesign

Because the founder expressed an interest in building a professional app, I knew that user trust would be a major factor behind design decisions. Upon inspecting the initial design for the app, our team found that the disjointed integration of banner ads led to a decrease in user trust.

So, when I was tasked with redesigning the Claim page, I researched various ways of integrating ads into an app.

After examining several examples, I decided on integrating ads and claim opportunities alike into a card system, a la Pinterest. Pinterest’s ability to conform ads and content to the same bounds allows for a seamless user experience that makes advertisements feel trustworthy rather than disconnected. So, I began to design a card system.
